Is it Racism?

The problem that is occurring right now in the U.S, is that there is a lot of illegal immigrants. The U.S wants to no longer accept these people, and the companies are now asking for social security so these people that are illegal can't work. I did not know that there are some people out there, that are writing that the U.S should not give anymore hospitality to these immigrants. These man is saying that if the U.S does not give any more hospitality these people will leave. I don't think this is fair because us Hispanic people come here, to work the U.S land. Now what some legal people are saying that they want us out of the U.S, or in the U.S. There are a lot of illegal people, but what we come to do is to have a better life. The only place we can think of coming and have a better life, is the United States. The U.S is supposed to be the land of the free. Now these immigrants come here because they need money to survive, but now some legal people don't want us here, but why we only come to work and get a better life. The legal people that are in the U.S, they were once illegal too. Now they are trying to take us out, and not give us the chance to be legal, and have a better life. Do you think that's racism?.

Just bringing a different arguement here.

So you think we should give rights to illegal immigrants? Why should they become citizens if the US just gives them rights right out the bat? You said, "The legal people that are in the U.S, they were once illegal too." Im not mexican but I was born in the US, I was not illegal. If you are born in the US, you are automatically given US Citizenship. I know a lot of people in my old hood the need jobs to survive just like you said illegal immigrants do but they are not being hired because it is so cheap to hire Illegal immigrants.

Ey, I agree that they shouldn't do that to us with papers or not.We should have a right to work because instead of being in the way we are really helping the economy and we are part of the U.S. if we had never came I think the U.S.wouldn't be what it is today.

I think if you haved lived in the U.S.A. for more then 10 years you should become a citizen. Illegal immigrants take the jobs that people dont want in the U.S.A.

You bring out a very special point near the eand of your post. Immigrants come here because they want a better life. Would you be willing to explore more in your blog what life is like in Mexico before coming to the US, legally or illegally, and how life changes once here? I think that this would be eye-opening for many. How, though, do you propose to make immigration fair for both sides -- an act of hope for the immigrants sometimes puts stress on the hosting country, which is not necessarily wanted nor fair? Can you explore this a little more?

Also, I wanted to ask about your question of racism at the end of your post. Take skin color and heritage totally out of the picture, our of the immigration issue. Let's just say that we're dealing with people of no specific color, only that they are not legal citizens. Does that change you point of view on how you see things?
